Luis Calderón and his family of coffee experts have made their farm, Finca La Betulia, renowned as among the best specialty coffee farms in Colombia. Home to around 30 different varietals, La Betulia may be one of the only farms in the world that recognizes the variety he has coined ‘Caturrón’. Named as such because it appears to be a larger version of Caturra, genetic testing is still on the horizon to find out exactly what this strange and unique coffee truly is. Having it on his farm for around 20 years, Calderón believes that one day his prediction that this is a new mutation might be vindicated.
This limited edition coffee is a deep and complex honey process with notes of java plum and rum raisin, as well as floral raw honey notes and spice tones of cinnamon and clove.
