The Nasa We’sx is an indigenous community in Colombia with an incredibly rich cultural history. Their artistic works, language, and ancestral knowledge has had a great influence on the Colombian social landscape, although war and social unrest over the past century has threatened to destroy many of their long standing traditions.
After several decades of conflict, the community has managed to achieve relative peace, during which coffee cultivation took on an important role in the economic growth and development of the region. Part of our special Indigenous Coffee series, this double fermentation washed coffee from Eider Socorreño is an excellent reflection of the high quality, complex coffees being produced by the community today.
