At 14 years old, Nelcy Villanueva left her family in Tolima and moved to Colombia’s capital looking for new opportunities. After garnering a decade of work experience in business administration, she moved back to the countryside to join her husband on his coffee farm two hours south of Bogotá. Since living on the farm for the past 8 years, Nelcy has become a leader in the local coffee association, providing administrative training and support to female coffee growers in the area and giving them the tools to be economically independent and successful in a field typically dominated by men.
Villanueva, named after Nelcy herself, is an exceptionally sweet and fruity coffee with notes of caramel, a velvet tropical fruitiness like apricot butter, and brown sugar.
