Amparo Solarte is a coffee farmer who’s farm, called El Pedregal, is located in the village of El Caimán, close to the town of Gaitania, Tolima. This remote zone, isolated from decades of some of Colombia’s heaviest conflict, is an almost pristine area full of fertile soil and high, tropical mountains. Inheriting the farm from her parents 25 years ago, she’s been working the land ever since, alongside her 2 sons who aid her in the daily farming duties.
El Caimán is a remarkably sweet coffee with fruity notes of apricot and mountain papaya, a sweet cacao flavor and a floral honey note in both flavor and aroma.
