Third-generation coffee producer and owner of Finca La Rivera, Julio Madrid uses his world-class expertise in coffee processing to produce not only some of the best coffees we source, but among some of the finest Colombia has to offer. Whereas most geshas are processed using the washed method due to their fragility in cultivation and tea-like profiles, this estate coffee is honey-processed, meaning mucilage is left on the bean during the drying process after having been removed from the cherry. The result is a rare and perfectly balanced yet delicate coffee with enhanced floral notes and aromas, and a sweeter, bolder mouthfeel than washed geshas.
Gesha La Rivera is brimming with fruity notes like white grape, apricot, and green apple, delicate floral undertones, and is rounded off with a sweetness like the raw cane sugar panela.
