Born and raised in Bogotá, Diana Florez is a trained dentist who left the city 12 years ago to dive deep into the world of coffee production in the countryside. After inheriting her grandparents’ farm in Ubaque, a region historically dominated by herb cultivation which requires direct sunlight without tree cover, she founded a local coffee association alongside other local farmers in an effort to restore the deforested region through shade-grown coffee production. Diana has spearheaded several initiatives including beekeeping and bird watching that not only cultivate environmental awareness within the association but also improve the quality of the coffee coming out of the region.
La Fuente, the original name of Diana’s grandparents’ farm, is a sweet and fruity coffee, with notes of juicy mango, panela (raw cane sugar), and hints of floral jasmine-like notes.
