Johana Romero spent most of her life in Bogotá, living with her husband and two sons and working in business administration. But the day her husband got a job in La Palma, a region tucked away into the tropical mountains a few hours' drive from Bogotá, she made the choice to leave the city and become a farmer. She's faced incredible challenges in the transition from having to acclimate herself to new surroundings, to taking on difficult manual labor to facing resistance from men when she took the reigns as a leader of a coffee growers' association, but she says she's glad she made the change and loves life in the countryside.
La Palma is a fruity and floral coffee with notes of peach and honey, a distinct nutty flavor and a caramel sweetness.
